Hi and welcome, I'm Iga

I am a BACP registered Integrative Counsellor. I offer therapy sessions to adults (18+) - face to face in Bexhill on Sea, online and telephone from wherever you are in the UK.

I have a particular interest in a couple of areas that are close to my heart:

SUPPORTING PARENTS THROUGH PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES

Whether you’re pregnant and struggling with anxiety or depression, feeling isolated in your struggles, or coping with the aftermath of a traumatic birth experience that keeps you in survival mode.

Pregnancy, childbirth, and the transition to parenthood can stir a variety of emotions that are rarely discussed, leaving parents feeling overwhelmed, anxious, lost or guilty. Please don’t struggle on alone, I am here to offer support.

ANXIETY

I have extensive experience working with anxiety and panic disorders, which can often lead to feelings of overwhelm and burnout. Anxiety can feel all-consuming, leaving you stuck in a constant state of fight, flight, or freeze. This ongoing tension can drain your energy and joy, often leading to physical symptoms like aches & pains, migraines, nausea, decreased immunity and more.

I can help you explore what’s going on in your life and support you in regaining the sense of calm and clarity.

I understand how very lonely and exhausting it is to feel anxious, overwhelmed or 'not good enough". Sometimes we can feel guilty or ashamed about things that have happened (or are currently happening) that are difficult to talk about. The pain, confusion or worry can become overwhelming.

Therapy is about creating a space where you can explore and express your thoughts and emotions, allowing you to feel heard and understood. We may delve into the different parts of yourself that are in conflict, helping you understand why you feel the way you do. Alternatively, we could focus on identifying what needs to change, what you envision for your life, and develop a plan to make that vision a reality.

My approach

My approach is to work with and alongside you, providing a confidential and non-judgemental space where you can freely share whatever you'd like. In therapy, all emotions are welcomed and valued, it is a space for you to be yourself. While therapy might feel intimidating at first, I hope that over time, you'll experience how empowering and healing the process can be. We will go at your pace.

I approach my work in a trauma-informed way, recognising how trauma can influence behaviour, emotions, and responses. My aim is to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space that promotes trust and healing.

The relationship you build with your therapist is crucial to making the changes you’re seeking within yourself. From my own experience, I understand how important it is to feel comfortable, supported, and at ease with the person guiding you through this process.
